Welcome!!! March, 1995
The GEN7 system consists of the following:
Distribution CompuServe
0. The GEN7 Desktop with File Manager.
GEN7G19.EXE or G7G19.LZH
These programs run within the GEN7 GUI:
1. Children's Tutors GEN7TD19.EXE or G7TD19.LZH
2. Accountant Module GEN7AD19.EXE or G7AD19.LZH
3. Song DataBase GEN7SD19.EXE or G7SD19.LZH
4. Old Testament Bible Study GEN7OD19.EXE or G7OD19.LZH
5. New Testament Bible Study GEN7ND19.EXE or G7ND19.LZH
6. Voice Module Data GEN7VD19.EXE or G7VD19.LZH
7. Program Manager GEN7PR19.EXE or G7PR19.LZH
8. GEN7 Help Data (Required) GEN7HD19.EXE None, contained
in G7G19.LZH
These extensions
may be *.ZIP
on other BBS's
The GEN7 Desktop program (0) is used with each of the others (1-8),
but the data sets are different. Each program should be in a
separate directory. Note that these are programs for evaluation,
and run separately, so each directory should have the GEN7 Desktop
program within it also. Note also that it is possible to run the
programs with only one copy of GEN7 after the separate modules are
registered. This approach was taken to minimize the amount of disk
space required to hold these data sets.
To install these programs (if you do not have a distribution disk
with an install program on it), first copy GEN7G19.EXE and the
desired data set to the directory that will be their home. Next
type:
GEN7G19 or G7G19
followed by:
GEN7??19 or G7??19
where the ?? is one of the two characters defined in the above
list. Answer yes to any questions about overwriting existing
files. Make sure that GEN7HD19.EXE is on at least one disk
shipped, for every shipment. The help data is required to
run GEN7, but because of the sizes of the files, this one piece
was put into its own data set (GEN7G19 fits on one 360k disk).
System Requirements:
* 100% IBM PC, XT, AT, PS/1, PS/2 compatible with
DOS 4.0 or better.
* EGA or VGA graphics adapter and any type monitor.
* A Mouse is required, but the cursor keys may be
used to move the pointer also.
* A fixed disk is highly recommended, but a high
density drive will work.
* The CONFIG.SYS must contain: FILES=40, or greater.
* At least 512K of RAM (Approx. 490k of free space).
* It works nicely even on an XT (8088), but it is
not as quick to startup, and some functions are slow.
* The Voice Module will only work with a 286 10MHz
processor, or better.
Please have a good time with this software, and register!
